Manage canvases
Create, find, and organize canvases from the home page, then switch directly from the upper-left corner of an open canvas.
Start each new piece of work on a new canvas. Creative OS automatically saves its nodes, connections, Agent conversations, and generated results. Return to the canvas home page whenever you want to continue earlier work.
Canvases appear in two places:
- Personal canvases can only be opened and edited directly by you;
- Team canvases can be opened and edited by members of the current team.
1. Create a canvas
- Open the Creative OS home page;
- Select New Canvas in the upper-right corner;
- Creative OS opens a blank canvas;
- Select the canvas name in the upper-left corner, enter a name you can find later, then press
Enter.
You can also send Agent a task from the home page. Creative OS creates a canvas and keeps the conversation and Agent outputs there.
2. Find an existing canvas
Use Search, Filter, and Sort in the upper-right corner when the list gets longer:
| What you need | What to do |
|---|---|
| A canvas with a known name | Enter the canvas name in Search |
| Only canvases or only folders | Open Filter and choose the content type |
| Canvases changed recently | Choose Last modified and Newest first |
| Canvases created earlier | Choose Date created and Oldest first |
| A different layout | Switch between grid and list view |
To find a canvas owned by your team, switch to Team canvases first. Personal and team canvases appear separately.
3. Switch canvases
When you are already inside a canvas, you can open another one without returning to the home page:
- Select the arrow beside the current canvas name in the upper-left corner. Selecting the TapNow logo returns to the canvas home page;
- The dropdown opens with a check mark beside the current canvas;
- Select another canvas. TapNow saves your current changes before opening it;
- The switch is complete when the name and canvas content update.
If the list is long, enter a canvas name in Search canvases. Search stays within the same space as the current canvas: a personal canvas searches personal canvases, while a team canvas searches canvases in the current team. If a collection appears in the list, select it to show its canvases.
To start something new, select New Canvas at the bottom of the dropdown. TapNow creates it in the same personal or team space and opens it immediately. It is not automatically added to the current collection.
Save status stays hidden while the canvas saves normally. If a red warning appears, select it to retry saving before switching again. A failed switch leaves you on the current canvas so you can try again later.
4. Rename a canvas
Inside an open canvas, select its name in the upper-left corner, enter a new name, and press Enter. From the canvas home page, select ··· on the canvas card, or right-click it, then choose Rename.
Use a name you can find again, such as:

If you have many canvases, including the product, client, or type of content makes Search more useful.
5. Organize canvases with folders
Select the folder button in the upper-right corner of the canvas home page to create a folder.
You can add canvases to a folder in three ways:
- Open the canvas menu and choose Move to…;
- Enter selection mode, choose several canvases, then select Add to folder;
- Drag a canvas card into an existing folder.
You can also drag one canvas onto another from the canvas home page to create a folder containing both.
Folders only organize the list. They do not change the nodes, connections, or content inside a canvas.
6. Move a personal canvas to your team
When you want teammates to edit the same canvas:
- Find the canvas under Personal canvases;
- Select
···, then choose Move to team; - Check the destination team in the confirmation window;
- Select Move to team;
- Switch to Team canvases and open the canvas.
Members of the current team can edit the canvas after it is moved. If you later choose Move to personal, they will lose access.
7. Share or delete a canvas
From the canvas menu:
- Choose Share by link to copy a link that lets other people view and clone the canvas;
- Choose Delete to remove the canvas;
- Use selection mode to move or delete several canvases at once.
Read the confirmation window before deleting. Download any image, video, or audio files you need to keep.
