Use playlists

A Playlist lets you turn several video clips into one continuous video. On the same timeline, you can reorder shots, trim unwanted frames from the beginning or end, split clips, and preview the full sequence.

Your original video nodes stay on the canvas. Editing a Playlist does not overwrite the source videos.

1. Create a playlist

If you already have two or more video nodes:

1. Hold Shift and click each video you want to use, or drag a selection box around them.
2. Click Create playlist in the toolbar above the selection.
3. A new Playlist node appears on the canvas.
4. The selected videos are added to its timeline.

You can also click + in the canvas dock, open Utilities, and choose Playlist. This creates an empty Playlist that you can fill afterward.

2. Add more videos

After creating a Playlist:

1. Click + inside the Playlist.
2. The canvas switches to video selection mode.
3. Click the video nodes you want to add.
4. Press Esc when you are done.

You can also drag a video node onto an existing Playlist. Release it when the interface shows that it will be merged into the timeline.

Image and audio nodes cannot be added directly as video clips.

3. Reorder your shots

On the timeline, drag a clip left or right and drop it in a new position.

Play the sequence from the beginning and check:

• whether the shot order is easy to follow;
• whether adjacent shots repeat the same action;
• whether a person or product suddenly jumps position;
• whether motion changes direction unexpectedly;
• whether the total duration is close to what you need.

Get the order right first. Fine-tune individual clip lengths afterward.

4. Trim and split clips

Trim the beginning or end

Select a clip and drag either edge:

• Drag the left edge to change where the clip starts.
• Drag the right edge to change where the clip ends.

Trimming changes only the range used in the Playlist. It does not remove frames from the source video on the canvas.

Split at the playhead

1. Move the playhead to the frame where you want to split.
2. Click Cut, or press C.
3. The clip is divided into two segments at the playhead.

You can then move, trim, or remove each segment separately. A cut cannot be placed too close to a clip boundary; each segment must remain at least one second long.

5. Remove a clip or find its source

Right-click a clip on the timeline to:

• locate its source video node on the canvas;
• remove it from the Playlist.

Removing a clip from the Playlist does not delete its source node. If a shot needs another pass, locate the source, make the change, and add the new video to the Playlist.

6. Preview the full video

Press Play and watch the complete timeline. Before exporting, check:

• for black frames or unwanted still frames;
• that every shot starts and ends cleanly;
• that adjacent shots cut together naturally;
• for audio that stops or repeats unexpectedly;
• that the total duration matches your requirements.

Watching clips one by one is not enough. Many problems appear only at the cut between two shots.

7. Export the playlist

Open the Playlist export menu and choose:

When downloading original clips, TapNow follows the timeline order and downloads an identical source file only once.

Merging a video or exporting it back to the canvas takes time. Wait for the current export to finish before starting another one, and keep the page open while progress is shown.

Try it once

Use four generated shots to make a short video:

1. Hold Shift and select four video nodes.
2. Click Create playlist in the selection toolbar.
3. Move the opening shot to the far left and the product close-up to the end.
4. Drag the edges of each clip to remove unstable frames at the beginning and end.
5. Move the playhead inside a clip that runs too long, press C, and remove the extra segment.
6. Play the full timeline and check the order, black frames, audio, and duration.
7. Choose Download merged video (MP4).

After the download finishes, play the local file once and confirm that it matches the timeline preview.
