Organize your canvas

As your canvas grows, three tools can help you keep track of your work:

• Recover generated images, videos, and audio from History;
• Add color-coded pins to important nodes;
• Search for a node and jump straight to it.

These tools do not change the connections between nodes or remove anything from your canvas automatically.

1. Recover generated content from history

Creative OS keeps a history of the images, videos, audio, and 3D content you have generated. If you remove a generated node from the canvas, you can add its content back from here.

1. Click the History icon in the toolbar on the left;
2. Choose Image, Video, Audio, or 3D at the top of the panel;
3. Browse your generated content by date;
4. Click the item you want;
5. Creative OS creates a new node in the center of your current view and selects it.

The new node keeps the generated content and any available settings. You can move it, connect it, or use it as a reference for another generation.

History stores your generated content. It does not restore the entire canvas to an earlier state. Use Undo when you move a node by mistake. Use History when you need to recover a generated result that is no longer on the canvas.

2. Mark nodes with color-coded pins

Pins are useful for marking nodes that need more work, are waiting for approval, or are ready to deliver. You can assign one or more colors to a node, then find all nodes with the same color from the pin bar at the top of the canvas.

1. Click the node you want to mark;
2. Click the circular Pin button in the node toolbar;
3. Choose a color;
4. The color appears on the node, and a matching pin group appears at the top of the canvas.

To add another marker to the same node, open the Pin menu again and choose another color. To remove all pins from the node, choose None.

Locate a node from a pin group

The pin bar groups nodes by color. Hover over the bar to see how many nodes are in each group.

1. Click a color group;
2. The group opens a list of matching nodes;
3. Click a node name or thumbnail;
4. The canvas moves to that node and selects it.

A pin only marks and locates a node. It does not change the node itself. If you share a canvas with other people, agree on what each color means—for example, yellow for Needs review and green for Approved.

3. Find a node

Node search checks node titles, prompts, and text. Use it when the canvas is large or when you only remember a line from a prompt.

You can open search in two ways:

• Click the Search icon in the toolbar on the left;
• Press ⌘ F on Mac or Ctrl F on Windows.

Enter a keyword, then narrow the results to Image, Video, Text, Audio, World, or Group if needed.

To open a result:

• Click it with your mouse; or
• Use ↑ and ↓ to select it, then press Enter.

The search window closes, the canvas moves to the node, and the node is briefly highlighted. Press Esc to clear the current query, then press Esc again to close search.

Try it

Mark an ad image for review, move elsewhere on the canvas, and then find it again:

1. Select the ad image node, open the Pin menu, and choose yellow;
2. Move to another area of the canvas;
3. Press ⌘ F on Mac or Ctrl F on Windows;
4. Search for a word from the node title or prompt;
5. Select the result and confirm that the canvas moves back to the ad image;
6. Click the yellow pin group at the top of the canvas and confirm that the same node appears in the list.

Later, use the yellow pin group when you want to review all marked nodes. Use node search when you only remember a title or part of a prompt.
